ALBAWABA - Following reports of Kamala Harris securing the Democratic Party nomination for the presidential race, several names have emerged of the possible VP names Harris would choose to run the elections along with.

The list of names includes North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro. Sources told CNN that several Democrats have been asked to submit information about their finances, family histories, and other personal details.

The list included prominent names associated with Harris' party, and among these names:

Roy Cooper (North Carolina Gov.)

Currently serving as Governor of North Carolina, Cooper was elected for the first time in 2016 by just over 10,000 votes. He won reelection in 2020. Cooper was first elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives in 1986 and has been a political powerhouse in the state for many years.

Throughout his tenure as governor, Cooper has struggled with Republicans in the state legislature over abortion and voting rights, among other issues.

Mark Kelly (Arizona Sen.)

Arizona state representative and former astronaut, Mark Kelly, has been a reliable supporter of Democratic Party priorities, while occasionally clashing with his party's policies.

In 2023, Kelly blatantly called the influx of undocumented migrants across the US southern border a "crisis".

Andy Beshear  (Kentucky Gov.)

In office since 2019, Any Beshear has expressed willingness to run alongside Kamala Harris if she formally invites him to be her running mate.

In a televised interview, Beshear was asked: "Are you at least open to the possibility of being a running mate to Vice President Harris?" to which he replied, "Well, I think if somebody calls you on that, what you do is, is at least listen,".

Josh Shapiro (Pennsylvania Gov.)

Shapiro was elected in a landslide victory in 2022, becoming the third Jewish governor to serve in the critical swing state.

He is seen as a potential running mate for Harris if she is the party's presidential contender. During a recent visit to Philadelphia, Harris referred to Shapiro as a "great partner to the president and me".
