Stepping up the drive to strengthen its reseller network in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Western Digital (WD), the leading hard disk drive manufacturer, recently held seminars for resellers in the Moroccan city of Casablanca and in Algiers, the capital of Algeria.
The seminars aimed to facilitate a better understanding among resellers about the organizational profile of WD and its product range, and also sought to outline a strategy roadmap for the local market. The Casablanca and Algiers seminars closely follow the ones held recently in Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia and Alexandria in Egypt.
“Resellers are extremely important component of WD’s customer outreach, and helping them develop an excellent understanding of WD as a company and its product range is crucial to our success in these markets. The seminars were aimed to facilitate this,” said Hafeez Khawaja, WD’s Senior Regional Director, Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
“The seminars enabled resellers to understand more closely the features and benefits of the WD range of hard disk drives and learn about the new WD products. At the same time, it allowed WD to better appreciate reseller needs, and work out strategies to effectively address them. We would be organizing more reseller seminars in the future, in various Middle East cities,” Khawaja added.
The seminars also helped resellers gain a clearer idea about WD’s warranty program. All WD enterprise hard drives come with a five-year warranty while WD desktop and notebook drives have a warranty of three years.
WD had recently announced an ambitious strategy to expand its distribution channel in the MENA region, with a strong focus on the fast-growing markets of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. The company had also announced plans to extend its SelectWD channel loyalty program to these markets, in addition to providing localized RMA support through its local distributor.
