A health delegation from the World Bank (WB) will arrive in Amman Friday to review health projects financed by the organization, reported the official Petra news agency.
The delegation, headed by Maris Pierre-Lewis, will also hold talks with Jordanian health officials on ways of promoting the health sector in Jordan, said the agency.
The delegation, on a nine-day visit, will be briefed by the officials on the progress achieved so far in setting up the health sector reform project, funded by the WB.
In March 1999, the WB approved a $35-million-loan to Jordan to set up the project which aims at "increasing the efficiency, quality, and long-term financial sustainability of health services in Jordan," according to statement published by the WB at that time.
The main three objectives of the project are containing growth in health expenditures, assuring the efficient utilization of physical facilities and improving the delivery and quality of health care services -- Albawaba.com
