Ansar al-Sham wants you to know about their hell cannons. But we're congratulating these rebels on another feat — their discovery of Adobe After Effects.
The Syrian opposition group uploaded this blatantly obvious fake video of its members firing hell cannons using cheap computer animation:
Ansar al-Sham is one of many rebel groups working to dethrone President Bashar al-Assad. The elusive organization, claiming to have more than 2,500 fighters, has also worked closely with the Free Syrian Army and al-Nusra Front to reclaim territories taken over by either the regime or Daesh.
Motivations behind the Ansar al-Sham's fake video, other than its desire to intimidate or prove its power, are pretty unclear.
But give the group credit where credit is due. The rebel group has been known to have hell cannons in the past, which is why there's so much confusion about why they found it necessary to animate the explosion this time.
