Saudi Arabia on Wednesday said that a al Qaeda militant on its most wanted list has given himself up to authorities. A statement issued by the Interior Ministry said Fawwaz al-Otaibi, 36, called up his parents on the phone saying he wanted to turn himself in.
Wednesday's statement did not say when he surrendered or how long he has been in custody.
This development comes less than a week after another militant tricked the kingdom's anti-terror chief, Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, into believing he wanted to surrender, then tried to kill him. The prince was lightly wounded in last Thursday's attack.
