ALBAWABA - A video has circulated online after a huge container ship collided with Key Bridge, located in Maryland, the United States.
According to initial reports, the accident in which the container ship crashed with Key Bridge has left a mass casualty.
Local media said that the Coast Guard and the fire department in the state have just announced a mass casualty incident as they are responding to the Key Bridge accident in Baltimore, Maryland.
Local reports said that a portion of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed after a large ship collided with it early Tuesday morning.
In detail, an alert took place at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday that a large boat crashed into the bridge carrying north and southbound lanes of Interstate 695, catching on fire before sinking.
It also caused multiple vehicles to fall into the Patapsco River below raising fears of possible "deaths" due to the crash.
According to WTOP, the Francis Scott Key Bridge incident left at least seven vehicles, including at least one tractor-trailer-sized vehicle, to fall into the water.
Marine Traffic and Vessel Finder maps and data reported that the Singapore-flagged ship was named "Dali" and was heading from Baltimore to Colombo, Sri Lanka before crashing the bridge.
Shortly after the crash, the Maryland Transportation Authority posted on X (formerly X): "All lanes closed both directions for the incident on I-695 Key Bridge. Traffic is being detoured. #MDTraffic."
