ALBAWABA- The UK Maritime Authority has reported that a ship's captain reported an attack on his vessel, located 45 nautical miles south of Mocha, Yemen.
The attack involved rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) fired from two small boats. The vessel was targeted by armed boats in the Red Sea, raising concerns about maritime security in the area.
The Houthis have not commented on the recent incidents but have been blocking vessels bound for Israel since November 2023 in support of Gaza.
Two days ago, Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree announced that the Houthis conducted three military operations.
One operation targeted the ship Contship Ono in the Red Sea, accusing the owning company of violating a ban on entry to Palestinian ports. The other two operations targeted American destroyers.
Saree stated, "We carried out a significant military operation targeting an American destroyer with ballistic missiles," emphasizing that the Houthi group views U.S. military movements in the region as hostile.
