US navy downs drone from Yemen in the Red Sea

It comes a day after the Houthi group's top leader issued a threat to broaden military operations in Yemen against the Israeli occupation and the United States, specifically targeting the Bab Al Mandab Strait and warships passing through Yemeni waters.

ALBAWABA- The United States Navy, according to sources from "Reuters" and American officials, has successfully shot down a drone originating from Yemen earlier today in the Red Sea. 

A Pentagon official confirms that the destroyer Thomas Hander successfully defended itself against a drone attack in the Red Sea. 

This development follows closely after Houthi rebels in Yemen claimed responsibility for downing a US MQ-9 airplane in the Yemeni waters of the Red Sea just days ago.
