ALBAWABA- The United States Navy, according to sources from "Reuters" and American officials, has successfully shot down a drone originating from Yemen earlier today in the Red Sea.
A Pentagon official confirms that the destroyer Thomas Hander successfully defended itself against a drone attack in the Red Sea.
This development follows closely after Houthi rebels in Yemen claimed responsibility for downing a US MQ-9 airplane in the Yemeni waters of the Red Sea just days ago.
Additionally, it comes a day after the Houthi group's top leader issued a threat to broaden military operations in Yemen against the Israeli occupation and the United States, specifically targeting the Bab Al Mandab Strait and warships passing through Yemeni waters. The incident adds to the escalating tensions in the region.
