ALBAWABA - The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced Wednesday that it has signed multiple agreements with Honeywell, BAE Systems, and Lockheed Martin to increase production of several defense systems and munitions.
The Pentagon, in cooperation with Lockheed Martin, uncovered a new framework agreement on Wednesday to accelerate production of the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM).
In a statement published on its official website, the Department said that this agreement is a result of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's directives to enhance work, prepare the defense industrial base for war, and build a "freedom arsenal."
Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment, Michael P. Duffey, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, Michael Duffy, said, "Through this agreement, we are actively building the Freedom Arsenal quickly and effectively. By enabling industry to invest in production lines, we are building a critical and lasting advantage for our warfighters, enabling them to outmaneuver any potential adversary."
The U.S. Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin, also announced an agreement to quadruple the production of guidance systems for the THAAD interceptor missile.
