ALBAWABA- An Indian expatriate in Abu Dhabi has won the UAE Lottery’s Dh30 million grand prize, becoming the latest winner of the Lucky Day Draw after matching all seven winning numbers in the July 1, 2026, draw.

Sunil Kumar Sadasivan, a 52-year-old maintenance technician from Kerala, India, secured the life-changing jackpot with a Dh50 ticket. He said his winning numbers were selected using family birth dates, including his own, his wife’s, and his daughter’s, which he believed brought him luck.

The prize is valued at Dh30 million, equivalent to approximately $8.17 million and around ₹68.5 crore based on current exchange rates.

Speaking after the announcement, Sadasivan said he initially struggled to believe he had won. “When I first looked at it, I couldn’t believe it. Then I looked again and saw the full number. That’s when I realized I had won,” he said.

The Abu Dhabi resident said he plans to leave his job as a maintenance technician and return to India with his family. He intends to use part of the winnings to build homes and provide a secure future for his loved ones.

Sadasivan’s win marks the second Dh30 million jackpot awarded in the UAE Lottery’s Lucky Day Draw within five weeks, reflecting the growing popularity of the federally licensed lottery among residents across the UAE. The Lucky Day Draws are held every Wednesday and Saturday.

The win also adds to a series of major lottery victories by Indian expatriates in the UAE, a community that represents over one-third of the country’s population.
