ALBAWABA - In recent news, it's been reported that Houthis have attacked a British oil ship in the Red Sea. This happened after the US attacked another ship in the same area. The Houthis say they did this in response and will keep attacking until the siege of Gaza is lifted.

Tensions are high in the Red Sea. The US says a ship called Pollux, going to India, was hit by a missile.

The Houthis' military spokesperson, Yahya Seri, says they're supporting Palestine. He says they'll keep stopping Israel or occupied Palestine from targeting ports in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea until Gaza's blockade ends.

This isn't the first time the Houthis have attacked ships in the Red Sea since October.

U.S. Strikes Houthi Underwater Vessel for the First Time Since Red Sea Attacks Started

The United States has attacked Houthi missiles and boats in the Red Sea, hitting an underwater drone used by the rebel group for the first time. The strikes happened between 3 and 8 p.m. US time on Saturday.

The U.S. says these targets were a threat to American Navy ships and other boats in the region.

This is a new move by the Houthis, even though the U.S. has been bombing them. The Houthis have been attacking American and commercial ships in the Red Sea since Israel went into Gaza after an attack by Hamas on October 7.

These attacks have made some of the world’s biggest shipping and oil companies stop using this important trade route. It could have a big impact on the world economy.
