As May unfolds, the AUB campus will be the venue of a fundraising activity, a three-day conference on security in the city, and a trip to South Lebanon sponsored by the Women's League. Also, the annual class reunion for alumni is coming up in July.
As part of the Medical Laboratory Professionals Week 2010, a Brave Heart Program fundraising activity will be held on May 10, 11, and 12 near West Hall and on May 13 and 14 on the second floor of AUBMC, facing the cafeteria. In a bid to recognize the efforts of laboratory personnel in patient care, this event will provide a unique opportunity to educate the public on the key role played by clinical laboratory professionals in taking care of patients and helping build a healthier tomorrow.

The Master's programs in Urban Planning and Policy and Urban Design in the Department of Architecture and Design are holding a three-day conference entitled "City Debates 2010: Security [of/in] the City" from May 12 to May 14. The first day will kick off at 4:00 pm with a welcome note in the Maamari Auditorium, followed by the first keynote speaker, Derek Gregory of the University of British Columbia, speaking on "Baghdad Burning? Urban Violence and New Wars." At 9:30 AM the next day, in Architecture Lecture Hall, the first of three panels will take the floor. Panel I, "Constructing Threats;" Panel II, "Drawing Boundaries;" and Panel III, "Planning Security" will be followed by the second keynote speaker, Teresa Caldeira of UC Berkeley. On the final day, Friday, May 14, Panel IV, "Lifestyles of Exclusion," along with Panel V, "Resilience/Transgressions" and the closing panel will cap off the conference.
