ALBAWABA - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) announced that its colleague and Palestinian photojournalist Abdallah was severely injured in an Israeli bombardment in north Gaza.
It wrote on X: "Our UNRWA colleague & photojournalist Abdallah was severely injured in bombardments in north Gaza."
UNRWA further added that in the Gaza war, it is "recording the highest number of aid workers and journalists killed in any conflict.
Nonetheless, UNRWA pointed out that Palestinian photojournalist Abdallah had been sending photos to the agency to document the scale of destruction the Israeli army left in 149 days of war.
The UNRWA reposted a photo, dating back to Feb. 17, which shows a large destructed area. The picture was captured by photojournalist Abdallah.
According to UN figures, at least 122 journalists have been killed since the Israeli attacks on Gaza on Oct. 7.
The data makes Gaza among the world's deadliest locations for journalists in history, The New Arab reported on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the war in Gaza left at least 30,320 people killed and 71,533 wounded in Israeli airstrikes and attacks since Oct. 7.
