ALBAWABA - In a stark revelation, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has disclosed that Israeli forces have claimed the lives of 504 Palestinians in the West Bank throughout 2023, marking the highest death toll in the region over the past 18 years.
The UN, through its agency UNRWA, conveyed this distressing information via social media, underscoring its continuous documentation of Palestinian casualties resulting from Israeli actions since 2005.
Highlighting the gravity of the situation, the post emphasized that 2023 stands out as the deadliest year in the West Bank, with Israeli forces responsible for the demise of 504 Palestinians, a grim record since UNRWA initiated its record-keeping efforts in 2005.
Israeli forces have notably escalated their assaults on Palestinians in the West Bank, especially post-October 7. During this period, a total of 315 Palestinians lost their lives, and another 4,840 individuals were apprehended in the occupied territories, including East Jerusalem.
