A UN ship carrying humanitarian aid for Yemeni civilians arrived in the southern port city of Aden on Tuesday, AFP reported.
Governor Nayef al-Bakri told reporters the ship was the first UN vessel to have reached the southern city in the four months conflict since Saudi-led coalition airstrikes began.
The ship, chartered by the World Food Program had tried to reach Aden several times but failed due to security issues, despite the UAE having successfully reached Aden with aid in May.
"This will be the first WFP chartered ship to reach the port in Aden," WFP spokeswoman Reem Nada told AFP.
A UN-brokered Ramadan ceasefire failed to hold when both rebels and Saudi Arabia launched raids within hours after the agreement.
Most of Aden this week has been recaptured by government loyalists.
