Reuters reports that on Thursday, the UK has announced that it is sending its reaper drones to combat IS militants in Iraq.

Defense Secretary Michael Fallon stated in a report to the British parliament that "as the UK's only armed remotely piloted aircraft, Reaper will add to the strike capability we are already providing." Fallon also stated that the use of the reaper drones will be limited to strikes only in Iraq.

For the last month, the UK’s military has been part of a coalition led by the US operating to repel IS’ advance on large swaths of Iraqi territory. Parliament only approved operations in Iraq following a request by the Iraqi government and has rejected intervention in Syria.
