Emirati and French officials on Saturday reviewed their economic, commercial and investment cooperation, discussed ways of strengthening these ties, and addressed the prospects for opening new avenues for future cooperation, reported the Gulf News.

These topics were discussed by Sheikh Hamid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and newly appointed French Ambassador to the UAE Francois Gouyette.

Sheikh Hamid stressed the significance of further boosting the economic and commercial relations with France on the grounds of the traditional and current friendship between the UAE and France, said the paper.

Sheikh Hamid reiterated that the volume of trade between the two countries had recently witnessed tremendous development in various fields, noting in this respect the mutual participation in commercial exhibitions held in the two countries, as well as exchanged visits of commercial delegations.

For his part, the French envoy expressed satisfaction over Sheikh Hamid's consideration for the subjects discussed, and raised his country's readiness to provide the UAE with required technology and expertise in industrial and investment fields, the paper added - Albawaba.com
