The UAE and France on Friday discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of communications and transport, reported the Gulf News.
The topic topped the agenda of a Paris meeting between UAE Minister of Communications Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer and his French counterpart, Jean-Claude Jeasue, said the paper.
Tayer said they had discussed the unique relations between the two countries.
He pointed out that the two countries had entered into agreements in various fields, adding that the UAE wanted to reiterate its commitment to those agreements and to raise the level of relations between the two countries.
He said the discussion focused on transport and communications issues, including increasing the number of flights of Emirates and Gulf Air to France, in addition to issues related to training of UAE human resources in air traffic control and air transport – Albawaba.com
Al Tayer stressed that the French side had shown great interest on the issues, and that further discussions would follow so that agreements on them would be signed.
"We have agreed to get the authorities of the two countries' civil aviation to meet in September to discuss technical and administrative details of the flight schedule increment between the two countries," he said. The Paris airport authority is handling the expansion of Abu Dhabi and Dubai international airports.
