ALBAWABA- Emirati President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati met in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, reaffirming the robust fraternal ties between their nations.
In a significant move, both leaders agreed to reopen the UAE Embassy in Beirut, underscoring their commitment to stronger diplomatic relations.
The meeting also saw the establishment of a joint committee aimed at devising a streamlined mechanism for the issuance of entry visas to Lebanese citizens intending to travel to the UAE, as reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Discussions centered on bilateral relations, emphasizing collaborative efforts for mutual development and economic prosperity.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed reiterated the UAE's support for Lebanon's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
This development follows reports last year of challenges faced by Lebanese citizens in obtaining UAE visas, which the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs refuted, citing no official information about changes in visa issuance conditions.
