The UAE’s telecom company, Etisalat, has cut the fee for a videoconference license by two-thirds.
According to an Etisalat announcement Wednesday, cited by Gulf News, the fee has been slashed from Dh15,000 (about $4,000) to Dh5,000, the biggest single cut for any service.
The move is expected to see an increase in the number of private service providers setting up videoconference studios, said the daily.
The paper lists Etisalat ISDN gateway international destinations for video conferencing as: Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, the UK, US and Yemen.
