Two artillery shells accidentally exploded Wednesday in the grounds of the presidential palace here, injuring a child, palace guards said.
They said that damage to the palace in the center of the capital was minimal. The gate where the blast occurred was untouched.
"It was not a large explosion," said Fakhroudin, a palace guard. "Just two kids visiting their uncle who works here, they touched the shells and they went off."
He said one of the children was injured "but not seriously." – Kabul (AFP)
