Two Border Guards were killed and a third injured early Monday in a terrorist attack, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported quoting an official spokesman of the Interior Ministry.
The spokesman said at 4:30 a.m. today (Monday), a number of terrorists opened fire at a Border Guard patrol in the Al-Suwaif District near the city of Arar, Northern Borders province.
The patrol exchanged gunfire with the terrorists, killing one of them. One of the terrorists was wearing a belt with explosives and blew himself up, killing two of the guards in the process and injuring another.
The spokesman said security forces were following up the incident and added that a detailed report about the attack would be issued later.
