Two pro-Moscow Chechen policemen, a father and son, were shot dead by separatist rebels who burst into their home in the middle of the night, ITAR-TASS said Saturday, citing official sources.
The killings took place in Chechnya's second city Gudermes only 24 hours after rebels shot dead three pro-Moscow policemen in Argun, some 15 kilometers (nine miles) to the west.
Pro-Russian administrators and police officers are considered traitors and frequently attacked by the separatists, often with the help of the victims' pro-rebel neighbors.
Chechnya's pro-Russian administrator Akmad Kadyrov, said two dead men's neighbors were also to blame for the killing, because "the criminals could not have come and gone unnoticed from the scene of the crime."
Meanwhile, four Russian troops were wounded in the rebel republic when a remote-control bomb planted in a roadside motorcycle exploded as a federal army truck was passing, the Russian military's North Caucasus headquarters told Interfax Saturday -- MOSCOW (AFP)
