ALBAWABA- An Egyptian Air Force helicopter crashed during a training exercise in the Shalofa area, tragically killing two officers.

Egyptian military spokesman Colonel Gharib Abdel Hafez confirmed the crash was a result of technical malfunction, stating: "In the course of air force training activities today, Tuesday, a helicopter went down in the Shalofa area due to a technical fault, leading to the martyrdom of two officers."

He added that the relevant authorities are investigating the exact cause of the malfunction.

This incident follows a series of recent aviation accidents within the Egyptian military.

On February 25, 2023, a training aircraft crash left the pilot uninjured, and on June 19, 2022, a fighter jet also crashed during training, with the pilot surviving.

However, in January 2020, another military aircraft crash claimed the life of its pilot during an exercise.
