Two Bahraini officers involved with the Saudi coalitions aggression against Yemen have been killed in the border region.
The state-run Bahrain News Agency said the deaths took place at the restive Saudi southern frontier with Yemen on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a statement released by the Bahrain Defense Force identified the officers as Captain Ahmed Mohammed Ameen and Captain Mubarak Saad Rumaihi, adding that some other Bahraini officers were injured in Tuesday’s incident.
The statement did not say when or how the men were killed. However, many soldiers from Saudi Arabia and its allies partaking in the aggression against Yemen have been killed in the past.
Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco and Colombia have dispatched army forces in support of the Saudi military offensive against Yemen.
Earlier this month, the Saudi online activist, known on Twitter as @mujtahidd, said some 2,000 Saudi nationals have lost their lives and 4,850 others sustained injuries during nine months of Riyadh’s military campaign against Yemen.
The Al Saud regime began its military aggression against Yemen in late March, without a UN mandate, in a bid to restore power to Yemen’s embattled president, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.
More than 7,500 people have been killed and over 14,000 others injured since March. The strikes have also taken a heavy toll on the impoverished country’s facilities and infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools, and factories.
Yemeni army soldiers fighting alongside allied fighters from popular committees loyal to the Houthi rebels have conducted retaliatory attacks against the Saudi aggression, inflicting heavy losses on Riyadh’s military.
In another development on Tuesday, 10 pro-Hadi militants were killed in false airstrikes by Saudi jets on a district located in Yemen’s southwestern province of Ta'izz.
