ALBAWABA - Two of the commanders of Hamas' military arm, the Al-Qassam Brigades, have declared their martyrdom as a result of continuous Israeli bombings in Lebanon. This declaration is made in the midst of ongoing attacks and rising tensions around the area.
Field commander Said Atta Allah Ali was murdered early this morning when Israeli troops struck his residence in the northern Lebanon Beddawi refugee camp, according to a statement issued by Al-Qassam on Saturday. Sadly, the strike also claimed the lives of his wife and two kids.
Muhammad Hussein Al-Luwis, another commander, was reportedly killed in an Israeli strike in the eastern Bekaa Valley hamlet of Al-Faidah.
The Israeli military named the people targeted as "Muhammad Hussein Ali Mahmoud" and "Al-Qassam leader Said Alaa Naif Ali," alleging they were engaged in operational actions in Lebanon, in contrary to Al-Qassam's pronouncements.
The fact that this bombing on the Beddawi refugee camp is the first on northern Lebanon since Hezbollah and Israel's hostilities escalated in early October makes it noteworthy.
These officials' killings come after Hamas commander Fathi Sharif was assassinated earlier this week in an attack on his home in the southern Lebanon al-Bass camp.
