Turkish security forces have killed an Iranian suspected of drug-trafficking in the eastern province of Van, Anatolia news agency reported Monday.
The man was killed near the town of Baskale, several kilometers (miles) from the Iranian border, when a group of five people disobeyed orders to stop and fired on security forces patrolling the area, the agency said.
The other four people managed to flee in the dark.
The soldiers found 30 kilograms (66 pounds) of base morphine, a Kalashnikov rifle and some 60 bullets at the spot, Anatolia said.
