Despite being over 75 years old, a Turkish citizen recently received a letter from the armed forces ordering him to report to the nearest mobilization center, according to a report by Egypt's Al Ahram daily.
The pensioner thought that there had been a mistake, and assumed the intended conscript was one of his grandsons.
But the old man quickly ascertained that he was, in fact, the letter’s target, when he remembered that he fled from military service 55 years ago. “Actually, I made a mistake when I did not complete my compulsory military service 55 years ago,” he said.
