Turkey's trade plans include boosting exports to the UAE to $1 billion within the near term, Turkish prime ministry's foreign trade undersecretary, Kursad Tuzmen, said on Monday.
Tuzmen told the Gulf News that Turkey plans to increase exports to the UAE by $100 million, taking it to a total of $500 million.
"My policy in the short stage is to take it to $1 billion in the next few years and then to expand it further up to $3 billion."
Turkey's foreign trade is around $80 billion.
He added that a Turkish delegation will soon arrive in Abu Dhabi, while some exporters are negotiating with UAE businesses about glassware, automotive parts, jewelry and electrical appliances.
