ALBAWABA - Despite Amman and Cairo's firm rejection, US President Donald Trump reiterated his call for Jordan and Egypt to take Palestinians from Gaza, Axios revealed citing the president.

Axios reported Trump made the new remarks about taking Palestinians out of Gaza during a statement to reporters on his plane on Monday night.

Axios quoted Trymp: "I want them to live in a place without violence. Gaza has been hell for so many years. They can live in much better and more comfortable areas." The US President added: "I've helped him [el-Sisi] a lot and I hope he'll help us. I think he’ll do it [take in Palestinians] and the king of Jordan will do it too."

Days ago, President Donald Trump suggested moving people in Gaza to neighbouring countries; and asked Egypt and Jordan to welcome more Palestinians. Both Cairo and Amman firmly rejected the idea.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said: "Jordan’s priority is to help Palestinians remain on their land." He added: "The solution to the Palestinian issue is a Palestinian solution. Jordan is for Jordanians, and Palestine is for Palestinians."

Furthermore, the Foreign Ministry in Egypt stated the government supports "the Palestinian people's insistence to remain on their land, defending their legitimate rights and respecting international law."

This comes as about 300,000 Palestinians returned to their homes in North Gaza following the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Netzarim Corridor which is located in the middle of the Gaza Strip.
