The concrete roof of a tram station collapsed in Egypt's Mediterranean city of Alexandria Saturday night killing a teenager and injuring 10 other people, newspapers reported Sunday.
The tram shelter in Ibrahimiya, an eastern neighborhood of the city popular for late night shopping, had been renovated just three weeks before the accident, Al-Akhbar newspaper reported.
Al-Gomhuriya daily said the authorities had ordered the inspection of all tram stations on the line in the wake of the disaster. Prosecutors were investigating the incident, Al-Akhbar said.
