Two trains collided in western Algeria this weekend, killing seven people and injuring about 60 others, Algeria’s official news reported.
Six people were killed on impact in the crash Monday between a passenger train and a freight train in the city of Mohammadia, about 350 kilometers west of the capital, the agency said.
Fifty-one injured people were treated at a hospital in Mohammadia and released yesterday evening, while seven others with serious injuries were transferred to Oran for medical treatment, it added.
The reasons for the accident were not immediately clear, the agency said, noting that investigators opened an inquiry to determine the causes of the accident – Albawaba.com
