General Yahia al-Mutawakel, the Assistant Secretary-General of Yemen's ruling General People's Congress and a former interior minister, died Monday in a road accident.
The crash took place in the Lahaj region, around 290 kilometers south of Sanaa, according to the official SABA news agency.
Al-Mutawakel was also one of the top advisors to Yemen’s President Ali Abdullah Saleh. (Albawaba.com)
