The bodies of two dead Turkish nationals and an unidentified man were found in northern Iraq, police Maj. Sadoun Ahmed Matrud said Thursday.
Two Turkish truck drivers were kidnapped in mid-August in Mosul, while a third, who worked for a laundry service, was kidnapped in late July, The AP reported.
Later, Qatar-based Al Jazeera television reported that an Iraqi group, dubbed Tawhid and Jihad, had killed three Turks it was holding hostage.
In other violence, two people were killed on Thursday in a roadside bomb blast some 70km south-west of the northern city of Kirkuk, according to police Colonel Sarhat Qadir.
In downtown Baghdad, a hand grenade was thrown at a passing police vehicle, wounding one officer and setting the car ablaze. (albawaba.com)
