Three Tunisian trade delegations, including government official and businessmen, will arrive in Bahrain next month with “an ambitious marketing campaign aimed at boosting inward investment, product exports and joint manufacturing ventures,” reported the Gulf Daily Thursday.
“The three commercial delegations from Tunis will arrive in Bahrain on April 14 to discuss a range of economic issues,” Tunisian ambassador in Manama, Mohammed Al Awaiti, told the paper.
The envoy said the first delegation would consist of members of Tunisia’s Union of Commerce and Industry.
They will sign a memorandum of understanding with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) to form a Bahrain-Tunisia Business Council, he said.
“The council would include Bahraini and Tunisian businessmen,” said Awaiti, adding that it would be a prelude to important economic and trade proposals, including the elimination of double taxation and the reduction of import tariffs.
A second delegation is being dispatched from Tunisia’s Foreign Investment Promotion Agency, he said.
They will be discussing a range of inward investment and joint venture manufacturing projects.
A third delegation will include members of Tunisia’s Center for Exportation.
Trade volume between Tunisia and Bahrain reached last year BD20 million ($55m), striking a balance of trade for the first time, said the paper -- Albawaba.com
