Ten PKK miitants have surrendered to security forces in Turkey’s southeastern province of Sirnak, Turkish military announced Sunday.
According to a statement issued by the Turkish General Staff, the militants were fleeing from northern Iraq when they surrendered to security forces in Sirnak’s Silopi district.
Separately, Turkish security forces said they “neutralized” at least four Daesh members in Turkey’s southern province of Gaziantep’s Oguzeli district.
Six other Daesh members were apprehended in Turkey’s Syrian border province of Kilis while they were attempting to cross the Turkey border into Syria illegally.
Since July, official figures suggest that more than 180 members of security forces have been martyred and over 1,700 PKK militants killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq, including airstrikes.
The PKK, considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the EU, renewed its armed campaign against the Turkish state this summer.
