The largest park of Tehran, Pamchal Park, was formally opened by President Mohammad Khatami Monday on the threshold of Eid-ul-Fitr, Tehran Times reported Tuesday.
The park is located in southwestern Tehran. Some Rls.50b (28.5m) was spent on the construction of the park.
The park includes a green area of 392,895 sq.m and an area of 127,105 sq.m including streets, buildings, playground and a lake, the paper said.
Also, some 52 species of plants have been sowed in the park to contribute to the reduction of Tehran's air pollution, the daily said -- Albawaba.com
