Syria's Grand Mufti and Head of the Supreme Council of Fatwa, Sheikh Ahmad Keftarou, passed away on Wednesday. He was 89.
The Ministry of Islamic Trusts (Waqfs) offered condolences to all Muslims and scholars across the world over the demise of Sheikh Keftarou.
The Ministry said the funeral of late Sheikh Keftarou will begin Thursday following noon prayers from Omayyad Mosque in Damascus.
