HERMEL, Lebanon: A Syrian army helicopter fired Monday several rockets at Khirbet Daoud in northeast Lebanon, Lebanese security sources told The Daily Star.
At least three rockets were fired by the Syrian aircraft, the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, adding that an illegal border crossing in the area was the target of the attack.
There were no casualties.
Khirbet Daoud, near the northeastern border town of Arsal, has been the target of air raids in the past.
In June, A Syrian helicopter gunship dropped three barrel bombs on a barren area in Khirbet Daoud. Two months prior, a Syrian helicopter gunship also fired rockets on Khirbet Daoud and neighboring Seraj al-Ajram, slightly wounding a resident.
