A father found his 12-year-old boy hanged inside a room at a north Lebanon school where he teaches Monday, a security source told The Daily Star.

The boy, identified as Syrian Mohammad Abdel Kader Ramadan, was discovered hanging by a belt at Al-Hikma Sharqiya Majaniya School in the border village of Talhamira.

The source said investigators have ruled out suicide because the belt was tied to a bar in a room that would have been too high for the child to reach.

Ramadan was physically and mentally healthy, and was seen in good spirits eating cactus fruit one hour before his body was discovered, the source added.

He said an autopsy was being carried out to see if the boy had defense wounds, bruises, and if any fingerprints could be lifted from scene.
