A ceasefire agreement has allegedly been reached in the besieged Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria's capital, according to the Associated Press.

Syria's state news agency SANA reported Sunday that all heavy weapons are set to be removed from the Yarmouk camp, home to thousands of Palestnians, under the new ceasefire deal. Barriers will also be taken down and an internal force is set "to be created to ensure security," according to the AP report.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also confirmed the ceasefire, saying that both regime and rebel supporters are part of the deal.

Preceding ceasefire agreements in Yarmouk have all failed.
