The Swiss charge d'affaires in Addis Ababa has been shot and "seriously" wounded in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, and was repatriated Saturday, medical sources said.
The unnamed diplomat was shot Friday by an Ethiopian construction entrepreneur and was flown home via Nairobi, capital of neighboring Kenya, the sources said.
The Swiss foreign ministry in Berne said Saturday that the diplomat was in stable condition.
According to initial reports, the shooting was the result of a dispute over work done at the Swiss embassy in Addis Ababa, said foreign ministry spokesman Ruedi Christen -- ADDIS ABABA
