Swarovski, Platinum sponsor of the Vacation Ownership Investment Conference – VOIC 2008, set out firm plans to enter the high end timeshare resort interiors market, following its attendance at VOIC last week.

The crystal manufacturer hopes that its glittering array of lights and interiors solutions displayed at the two-day networking event will provide resort developers with new ideas when considering deluxe fixtures and fittings.

“We decided to attend VOIC to acquaint ourselves with the vacation ownership business, and show the industry’s players what we can do and how it can benefit the upper market resorts under development,” said Werner Baumgartner, Managing Director, Swarovski Middle East.

Swarovski has long had a presence in the Middle East hospitality and hotels market and its interiors and lighting products adorn a number of the region’s up market resorts. However, Baumgartner sees subtle differences in catering to the vacation ownership market.

“Vacation ownership is a very different market. We need to identify the key developers. One of the biggest is Dubailand Vacations, and we very much hope to start a dialogue with them,” Baumgartner said.

Swarovski, world leading manufacturer of crystal interiors solutions and decorative lighting products, has an exclusive project team to design innovative and individual lighting and architectural applications for developers.

VOIC 2008 is supported by Interval International, a leading provider of exchange, travel, and leisure services to resort developers and vacationers worldwide, and was held at the Arabian Court, One&Only Royal Mirage, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
