A suspect bag found on a Moscow bus on Sunday night turned out to contain vodka and sausages, police said Monday.
The Russian television station RTR had earlier reported that the small suitcase contained a bomb, which had been defused.
The bag was found by the bus driver when he took his vehicle back to the municipal garage around 4.00 am (0100 GMT).
Police said Sunday that security was being stepped up from December 25 to January 10 in case of terrorist attacks by rebels from the breakaway republic of Chechnya -- MOSCOW (AFP)
