ALBAWABA- In a daring overnight incident, a suspect launched a brazen attack to liberate a prison inmate from a Boise hospital, in Idaho state, USA, resulting in the serious injury of two Idaho corrections officers, authorities reported.

 Additionally, a third officer was inadvertently shot and wounded by arriving police officers who mistook them for the suspect.

According to a statement released by the city, one officer remains in critical but stable condition, another sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the third officer's injuries were less severe.

The turmoil erupted as corrections officers were escorting inmate Skylar Meade for medical treatment at St. Alphonse Hospital around 2:15 a.m. As they prepared to depart, an unidentified assailant opened fire on the officers, injuring two of them.

Responding to reports of an active shooter, Boise police encountered an armed individual near the hospital entrance. In the chaos of the situation, one officer discharged their weapon, later revealed to be the mistaken identity of a corrections officer.
