Emirates has been voted Airline of the year for the second year based on a survey released recently consisting of more than four million passengers worldwide, according to Emirates News Agency.
The Dubai-based airline won the title ahead of Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific at second, Singapore Airlines at third, British Airways at fourth, and Deutsche Lufthansa, fifth, according to reports in UAE’s dailies.
The other airlines on the top ten list included Continental Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines, All Nippon Airways and Air Canada.
Over four million nominations had been collected by Skytrax Research of London for the annual passenger survey, 50% more than the number collected for the 2001 awards, which Emirates had also won.
Skytrax chief executive Edward Plaisted said that Emirates airline had won the title due to its well-rounded package of service and product quality. (Albawaba.com)
