The visit coincided with a political crisis in Kuwait, following the dissolution of Parliament by the Amir.

ALBAWABA- Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman embarked on a two-day state visit to Kuwait, where he was warmly welcomed by Emir Sheikh Mishaal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah and other high-ranking officials.

Upon arrival at Amiri Airport, Sultan Haitham was received by a distinguished reception party, including Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al Ahmad Al Sabah and other key ministers. Official protocols were followed, with the Royal airplane escorted by Kuwaiti Air Force jets.

Later, Sultan Haitham, accompanied by Emir Sheikh Mishaal, proceeded to Bayan Palace in Kuwait City. The Omani delegation included high-ranking officials such as Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said and Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi.

This visit comes just two days after the Emir of Kuwait dissolved the Parliament and suspended certain articles of the Kuwaiti constitution for the next four years, amid an unprecedented political crisis between the Emir and the Parliament.
