ALBAWABA - Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) killed four people, including a child, in Al-Daraja neighborhood in El Fasher, Sudan Doctors Network announced on Tuesday.
The network posted on Facebook, "Four people, including a child, were killed in the Al-Daraja neighborhood of the city of El Fasher by individuals affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), amid dire humanitarian conditions the city has been experiencing since last October, with humanitarian aid barred from entering and women and children held under coercive confinement."
The announcement came inspite of the unilateral ceasefire that was announced by the RSF leader General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, commonly known as Hemedti, for three months. The deal, however, was rejected by the Sudanese Army, which is led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.
Sudan Doctors Network warned that the "continuation of such violations poses a direct threat to the lives of civilians" and that it violates international laws, which focus on ensuring the protection of civilians.
The network said it "called for opening safe corridors to evacuate thousands of civilians who are being forcibly held without access to services, in the midst of a total communication blackout and the absence of essential services."
It also called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately to save the Sudanese people who are locked inside the city of El Fasher.
