State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology of Austria visits RTA

The State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology, Austria, Eduard Mainoni, yesterday (Sunday, March 19, 2006), visited the Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai and met with H.E. Matter Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and, Executive Director of RTA, for an exchange of bilateral views on transport and technology, emphasizing on the development of highways and toll systems in both the countries.

With a common vision of developing new concepts and services that optimize traffic flow, maximize safety and minimize expenses, this meeting proved to be promising, as its objectives were based on the construction of new transportation routes and the optimization of the existing ones.


H.E. Matter Al Tayer said, “The long term common visions of the ASFINAG network and the RTA will lead to the achievement of our objectives of making transport in our countries safe and secure. This visit has been an honor for us and it has facilitated the exchange of ideas on developing the transport sector.”

"The strategies shared by both the countries on future projects help us envision our goals and will definitely help us provide a wide range of services to our commuters. With the most modern technology and efficient management in the transport service, both Austria and Dubai will definitely be amongst the most advanced countries in the world and will highlight our presence globally," he concluded.

This visit was completed by an invite extended by the Austrian Delegates to a number of Directors in the RTA for a visit to Austria to witness the presentation of the latest transport technologies in the country.
