Iran announced on Sunday that threatening or pressuring Tehran for its peaceful nuclear program will not work at all and it is only through dialogue that the problems can be settled.
"Threats and pressures are the most inefficient instruments for dealing with Iran and dialogue is the only way for removing the two sides’ concerns," Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi told a news briefing.
"Countries should avoid using the language of threats because it is the worst approach in international relations," Asefi said in response to several European officials who have threatened Iran’s nuclear issue will be sent to the UN Security Council if it doesn’t suspend all enrichment related activities.
Asefi added his country doesn’t like its nuclear issue to be sent to the Security Council but the Europeans and the international community will suffer more if the case is sent to the council.
"Of course we don’t like the issue to be referred to the Security Council but it is the Europeans and the international community which will suffer more if the issue is sent to the Security Council," he made clear.
Iran has not suspended its uranium enrichment program through the adoption of a resolution that now Europeans ask it to expand the domain of its nuclear enrichment suspension, Asefi said. (Albawaba.com)
